This large, 5.42~Acre property sits on a high plateau about a mile away from the Sprague River! This would be a great property to explore off-grid living! It just feels like freedom from a busy lifestyle, a change to a rural kind of living. Owner May Carry Financing!

Although it does get cold in the winter here, the area gets around 300 days of sunshine per year! There are other homes in the area that successfully rely on solar power. The property would need a well. Klamath County well logs show that wells in the area are productive and not too deep. They are not on the property, but there are even natural springs nearby! It would also need to have a perk for septic. If you plan to bring in power, be sure and check with the utility companies to verify distance and costs.

If you choose not to build right away, this property will make a great place for a base camp or vacation spot to explore the nearby wilderness, lakes, and rivers. After purchasing the property, there is no time limit to build. The Freemont-Winema National Forest is nearby with over 1,000,000 acres of public lands! If you love outdoor activities, this is the perfect place! Hunting, fishing, horseback riding, fly-fishing camping, hiking, OHV riding, there is so much to do!

It's about an hour to Crater Lake National Park, and the Cascade Mountains for winter skiing and snowboarding, you could travel up to the Willamette Pass or travel north to Bend to the ski resort at Mt. Bachelor. There are also many trails for cross-country skiing, sledding, tubing, or just playing in the mountain snow!

The community of Sprague River is just down the road.

They have a post office, deli, gas station, and a few shops. When we stopped at the store in town the people were very friendly and eager to help us! The town of Chiloquin is about 20 minutes away, or if you want to travel to a larger city, Klamath Falls is about 45 minutes south on Hwy 97. This Highway can also take you north a few miles to the Klay-Mo-Ya Casino or on to Bend, Oregon which is the largest city in Central Oregon and a hub for recreational, cultural, educational, agricultural, and artistic events.

The air is clear here, at night there is almost no light pollution, and stargazing is spectacular! One of the things that struck me the most while standing on the property is how quiet it is! You can hear the wind, and a few birds, a very far away dog barking, but mostly just the quiet peacefulness of the natural landscape that surrounds you here.
