Osprey, hawks, and other birds of prey are common; we have even seen pelicans on the lake! The Klamath Basin has the largest congregation of wintering bald eagles in the lower 48 states! Dec-Feb is the best time to see them, but they are here most of the year.
Klamath Falls is just an easy 30-minutes away and follows the Klamath Lake, if you want to make a shopping trip, need medical facilities, or are planning to commute to work. If you travel north on HWY 97 the city of Bend, Oregon is about 100 miles away.
The subdivisions at Agency Lake are not heavily populated yet, and with the vast expanses of wilderness that surround you, it really feels like you are out in the country. It is high desert here, and it gets cold in the winters, but the snowfall isn't too heavy, and the area boasts 300 days of sunshine per year!
