Although the property is rural, there are permanent neighbors and family ranches in the area. It is also just a few miles to the town of Bly for fuel, groceries or supplies.

The area is teeming with wildlife! The area is on the Pacific Flyway for Migratory Birds, and there are many species of waterfowl, songbirds, and birds of prey. Wildlife in the area includes Mule deer, Pronghorn, Rocky Mountain elk, turkey, grouse, quail, and many others.
