This area is within the Pacific Flyway for Migratory Birds, and there are many different species of birds that travel through the area, including bald eagles, sandhill cranes, osprey, hawks, songbirds and waterfowl. 

Larger animals include mule deer, black bears, mountain lions, and occasionally elk pass through. While we were traveling through the subdivision, we saw several deer in the fields!

 

The towering Cascade Mountains to the west offer fantastic winter recreation! People travel from all over Oregon (and farther) to ski and snowboard at Mt. Bachelor, and the Willamette Pass, both are within an hour’s drive from the property! In the warmer months, you can travel to Sunriver or Bend for world-class golfing and summer sports! You would be just a short drive from the Newberry Volcanic National Monument, Crater Lake, the Cascade Lakes, the High Desert Museum, and the La Pine State Park. 

The property would need a well and septic, county well logs show that wells in the area are not too deep and are productive. Although power is close, many people in the area successfully opt for solar power if you desire an alternative power source. This area has many sunny days, it doesn't get the rainfall that the interior valleys of Oregon are famous for.
