The area is considered high desert, and it does get cold here in the winters, but the area receives nearly 300 days of sunshine per year! There are some late spring frosts, but the summers are warm and pleasant. It does get a little windy around the lake, but with the trees and location of this property it is more protected here.
The road leading to Crater Lake National Park, HWY 62, is just outside of the subdivision. It's about 45 minutes to the park. Crater Lake National Park is Oregon's only National Park and is home to the deepest lake in the nation! Crater lake is 1.949 feet deep, and is fed by snowmelt, so it is incredibly clear! there is also camping, hiking, mountain biking or you can stay at the resort in the Park and explore from there!
In the winter months, if you drive for about an hour or so west you will be high up in the Cascade Mountains! The Willamette Pass offers skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowshoeing or just playing in the snow, you can also travel north on HWY 97 to Bend, Oregon and the ski resort at Mt. Bachelor!
