There is a large commercial airport in Redmond, about 115 miles away, and Christmas Valley also has a small airport. Nearby attractions include many unique geological features including, a two-mile-long hiking trail through a volcanic fissure at Crack-in-the-Ground, Fort Rock, Lost Forest, and the Christmas Valley Sand Dunes! 

The property sits in a large valley that is famous for quality hay production and is surrounded by foothills and mountain ranges. The elevation is around  4,800 ft with an arid, high desert climate. It does get cold in the winters, with some snow, but not the rain that the interior valleys of Oregon are famous for.

Power is nearby, however, with the valley’s ample sunshine, solar or wind power could allow for off-grid living possibilities. There are many homes in the area that successfully opt for alternative power.

This is currently a recreational property, building would need a CUP permit from Lake County. It would also need a well and septic prior to building. This property is easily accessed off Christmas Valley Highway on Buffalo Wells Road and is only about 1/4 mile from the paved road!
