The Freemont-Winema National Forest is nearby with over 1,000,000 acres of public lands, including wetlands and snow-capped mountains. This would be a great place to have a rural home, a campsite or vacation spot if you enjoy hunting or fishing or just enjoy the peacefulness of a spot in the country!
The Sprague River is just about a mile away! There are unlimited recreational opportunities here! Off-roading, quads, dirt bike riding horseback riding, hiking, or watching wildlife. You really are out in the country herewith wide open space and clean air! There is almost no light pollution here, so you can just imagine yourself camping here, looking up and stargazing, it would be spectacular!
The property is covered with native shrubs and grasses, the Yarrow was in bloom when we took these photos, covering the whole area in a blanket of white flowers. The community of Sprague River is about 5 miles away, and about 25 miles to HWY 97where you can go south about 30 miles to Klamath Falls for supplies and medical needs. Of course, you would need to check with the county to make sure whatever your dreams for this place would be permitted, it is a very rural property, with peaceful surroundings, clean air, and beautiful territorial views that would definitely be yours to enjoy here!

This area is within the Pacific Flyway where over 400 species of migratory birds pass through. It is not uncommon to see bald eagles, cranes, ducks, geese, and many other migratory birds.
During the spring and early summer, there are wildflowers that cover the area, when we took these picture Yarrow was in bloom, covering the area with a blanket of white flowers.
You are really out in the country here, it is definitely reminiscent of the Old West. There is almost no light or air pollution here at night, so the stargazing would be spectacular!
The elevation is about 4,000 feet here, so the winters are cold, and it does get hot in the summer, but the sun shines around 300 days of the year here! It would be a great place to have a garden and a few chickens or rabbits, although with the late spring frosts, you may have to start your garden in a greenhouse!

The nearby Freemont-Winema National Forest offers opportunities for hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, horseback riding, or just exploring the wilderness. This would be a great place if you had an ATV. dirt bike or mountain bike, with plenty of places to ride, have fun, and explore the area.
As the nearby Sprague River meanders through the valley, it offers fantastic fishing and fly-fishing, bird and wildlife viewing, or just playing in the water.
It's quiet out here. It's peaceful, the breeze blows the clean air off of the nearby mountains. You just stand here, take a deep breath, and know you have definitely gotten away from the busy city life.
This property sits outside of the nearby subdivisions, so you would need to check with Klamath County for land uses and permits. When you are out here on the property, the thing that strikes you first is the absolute peacefulness.
