walking distance from the Sprague River!
Imagine yourself walking just down the road to swim, fish, play, or just sit by the river and relax in the sun and watch the water flow tranquilly by. There are nice homes nearby and more are being built. Modular homes are allowed here. This property is located on a quiet dead-end street within the Klamath Country Subdivision.
The property has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and pastureland. There are small family farms nearby. It is high desert here, and it does get cold in the winters, but being in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, it gets plenty of sunshine!
The area boasts around 300 days of sunshine per year! Because of that, and that it is not heavily forested, solar power is a good option for many. There are people who move to the area and successfully live off-grid, so that may be an option for you here. Do check with the local jurisdictions on the viability of your plans.
This property does have power nearby if you choose. It would need a well and septic. The neighbors tell us, and the county well logs show that wells in the area are productive, and they don't have trouble getting a perk for septic.
The area is not heavily populated, the nearest town is Chiloquin, Oregon which is about 15 miles away, and you can get on HWY 97 from there where the city of Klamath Falls is just about 30 miles south.
Just north of Chiloquin is the Kla-Moy-Ya Casino, you can also travel farther north to Bend, which is the largest city in Central Oregon.
Klamath Falls has large shopping stores like Walmart and Home Depot, The Sky Lakes Medical Facility, The Crater Lake- Klamath Regional Airport, cultural events, concerts, great restaurants, and education. Oregon Institute of technology (OIT) is in Klamath Falls, as well as Klamath Community College. and many larger city amenities.
If you are looking to get away and live a quieter lifestyle, this may be the perfect spot for you! This is a rural property, but is by no means remote. It is walking distance to the Sprague River, not far from easy access to Hwy 97, which is the main artery through Central Oregon, there are neighbors, but not too close, and wildlife abounds here! If you are not looking for a permanent home, it would make an excellent property for a vacation home or hunting/fishing getaway.
